Inspired
Welcome back Sally! Glad you had a good time. Is everyone getting ready for Halloween yet? I just now put up decorations and got the kids costumes. We'll have Darth Vader and a Fairy Princess this year. Hubby and I skipping on the dress up this year, since we just a huge going-away party for some friends we decided to forgo the huge Halloween party this year.
On a more writing related note, I am thrilled to say I finally, finally finished the second Daughters of Anista book. To be honest I wasn't sure I would get through it this year so it was a nice surprise to see I managed to squeeze it in. I'll be thrilled when it's actually edited and available. So now that that is finished, I'm back to working on vampire book and I'm pretty inspired to get this one totally finished by the end of the year. What's everyone else working on at the moment?
I'm Back... Super Fun!
Hey ya'll,
I'm back for the TN EXPO! It was great fun! I met so many great women. The Smoky Mountain Romance Writers know how to put on an event within an event! Thank you to each of you!
So I just joined the Ellora's Cave Author's webring. Duh me, I had no idea there was such a ring.
What's going on with everyone?
Sally:)Fall, wait on the leaves, join me Tennessee!
I love fall too, ya'll, but Myra, WAIT, don't come up here yet, our leaves have just begun to have a tinge of autumn to them. It is very unusual for fall colors to be this late, but we've had many leaf lookers disappointed over the past two weeks. Our trees are still very green.
This coming Fri - Sun, I will be at the Kingsport Tennessee Women's Annual EXPO participating in Friday night's authors/readers dinner, Sat and Sun booksignings. I'm giving away two baskets. I'm also giving aways some books and a few special disks limited editions of my paranormal talk show, Sally's Midnight Hour.
If you are in the area or just want to take a fun trip and join 6,0000 women for an exciting weekend, there is plenty of time! You can join the expo booksignings anytime on Sat and Sun! I've heard from a few readers, like Patty Cochran, who's going! I'm looking forward to meeting you there, Patty!
I think there are still some tables open for the dinner, if you hurry, at least there were a few days ago. It's going to be a super dinner and wild two days of booksignings. Lora Leigh will be the other EC author signing books. I'm looking forward to meeting her in person after so many phone calls and IMs.
See everyone there,
Sally:)I love fall too!!
First, congrats Danielle for those great reviews!
Ashley, I love fall too - in fact it is my favorite time of the year. We rented a lake house in SC, with a nice big deck overlooking the water out back. Last year the foilage across the lake was spectacular and we are hoping for the same thing this year. Nothing better then sitting next to my sweetheart, sipping a cup of hot tea in the cool weather and looking at nature. We have all kinds of water birds, and tons of squirrels, who get angry at our cat Sasha and fuss at her when she's out in the yard!
We also plan to drive to the Blue Ridge mountains to look at the fall leaves, and this time I want to hike nature trails. Last year, we didn't have time because we had stopped at so many antique malls, it was getting late by the time we drove through the mountains.:)
Halloween!! Yipee! My favorite TV month too, because they put on horror shows. We may go to our dance club for Halloween. It's called "Ra" and is decorated Egyptian style, very nice. Simon will either go as a pirate or Zoro, while I'll go as a gypsy. I have several beautiful belly dancing costumes, but I "aint" showing my stomach! I put a shirt on with the decorated vest over it, skirt and coin-decorated scarf. Good enough. I'm hoping to talk Chris (my daughter) into going in full dancer costume - she has a cute figure.
Chris is visiting for a while...I'll write you more about her later. She is a recent Rita Hurricane victim.
Writing...the anthology Sex Kittens, shared with Ahsley Ladd, came out in print the 7th this month. It is availble at Ellora's Cave, Waldenbooks, Borders, or Barnes & Noble. It may take a while for it to show up in the stores, but can be ordered too.
I just finished "To Tame a Werewolf", a short story for NCP. It is the 2nd book in the River of Dreams series at New Concepts Publishing. More about it later...
A very lovely day here - sun is finally shining after a week of rain. Chris and I are going to the nearby, new Sandhills shopping center. Very cute and made to get out and stroll around. Has a huge fountain in the center of a circular drive through, benches, and Marble Slab so we can enjoy a cone. Or...maybe a Nestle Toll House cookie - decisions, decisions!!
MyraI love autuman, even living in South Florida.
My kids are getting ready for Halloween. My son is going to be Darth Vader. My daughter thinks she is going to be an elf so she can use the costume again at the Rennaissance Fair in the spring. I am surfing online to find pictures of elves so I can make her costume.
When my friend at work asked me what I was going to be for Halloween this year, I said probably nothing. Last year I dressed as an Airman, wearing my husband’s old Air Force uniform. I don’t know what I did with mine.
The next day, my friend brought a Dreamy Genie costume to me to wear this year. Soooooo, I guess I’ll be dressing up as a dreamy genie.I thought it would be fun and in the spirit of this season to share what we will be dressing up as this Halloween and what we dressed up as last Halloween. If everyone would post their pictures in their Halloween costume, that would be even more fun. If I can find the picture of me in costume from last Halloween, I’ll post it later tonight. I’ll see about getting a picture of me in the genie costume to post shortly. I hope it fits. My friend gave me a small.
Also, please share your favorite Halloween books and movies. I would love to read and watch some this year to get in the mood.
I’d also like to announce that my book MRS. RIGHT, a romantica comedy published by New Concepts Publishing at http://www.newconceptspublishing.com/, will be released this week (week of October 6th). And PURRFECT JUSTICE another romantica comedy with a definite Halloween flair, was just released by Elloras Cave at http://www.ellorascave.com.
So, what is everybody going to dress up as? Pictures please!
Ashley

P.S. Someone please tell me how to insert apostrophes in this blog so I do not sound like Commander Data all the time. (The apostrophes I put in the first draft came out as weird gibberish). :)Sara's Seduction is red hot!
